Intellectual Assets
Where is that spreadsheet Fred did? |
|
 |
| It is estimated that 90% of
the intellectual creations / assets of a Business live on the
hard disk drives of employees' personal computers. These assets
can include letters to
clients, proposals, contracts, client communications, budget worksheets,
invoices, monthly/quarterly/annual performance reports, spreadsheets, notes, and small local
databases, among other things. Rarely do these personal hard
drives share a consistent organizational structure - making it difficult
to transfer this knowledge to new employees. And often when
employees leave the organization, intellectual
assets are lost or unnecessary time is spent to locate them.
The
Business Office
Explorer file management framework insures that all Shared
work is organized
on a centralized server. Private file workspaces can be redirected
to managed servers or kept on each
individuals' PC. Users no longer have to "figure out" where they
are supposed to store the latest version of important files. These files
will already have been created in a shared location, insuring new
employees can get what they
need, when they need it, from a location that insures the protection of
your intellectual assets.
